Sorry. I was assuming current technology on the CTRL-ALT-DEL thing ;-) XP
and Windows 2000 gives you an orderly shutdown button. As for the power
button thing, once again, W2K and XP will shutdown properly if you just tap
it.

My computer won't do anything if you hit the power button.
IBM AMD Athlon. If the Windows locks up, which it does a
couple times a week, I have to kill power at the power strip
to get a re-boot.
CTRL-ALT-Delete, does not do an "orderly" shut down on any
computer I have ever had. It won't shut off programs
currently running, and usually causes a fault that triggers
windows scandisk.
