James, I take it you're not a Nascar fan. The smell of 40+ high performance, un-efficient engines would be (great in my opinion) hard for you to take. Dave

Yeah, but your '69 Mustang (or whatever had the 429) didn't have a trans
with O/D, wasted a ton fuel because of it, and polluted the environment
worse than a DuPont chemical plant explosion, especially if the carb and
points weren't adjusted - which they never were. EFI, electronic ignition,
O/D trans, and cat converters are all changes for the better. Besides, when
a 4-cyl Honda can be made to go faster than your 429 pig - they're doin
somethin right.

I love going to the local muscle car shows in the summer, but the one part I
hate is the end of the night when they all start their engines and leave the
parking lot. The stench is unbearable - and these are cars that are well
maintained and running unleaded fuel!!!! I was only a toddler in the 60's
so I don't remember much, so I can only imagine that the smell of leaded
fuel burned by large inefficient engines must have been horrible.

My wife keeps complaining that I don't listen to her....or something like that.
