It's not that I'm bewildered.  Ford just did this revival with the
T-bird.  I haven't followed this car closely enough to know well it
is doing for what Ford's objectives were.  If people were loyal to a
name, then it should be easy to do some study groups to verify the
design point to make sure that it doesn't disappoint that group of
potential buyers.

About the Marauder, I didn't even know that Mercury had made such a
car in the 60s, so much for that!  When I saw that the car had no
stick, I stopped right there and looked no further.

So to put it perspective here.  If Ford were to reuse the SHO name
again in the future, I'd have a set of parameters I'd be looking for
to see if it would interest me.  In the end the name can matter, but
the car would have to have practical appeal to me too.
