It would work....however, if you do plan on working with spring compressors 
it's not the place to be going with some cheap Harbor Freight tool. I've got no 
problem with most HF tools but a spring compressor is an absolutely critical 
tool and that piece looks cheap! Photo's can be deceiving, but the design [one 
tool to compress both sides of the spring, thin welded steel at critical 
points] bothers me. I've got compressors [2 pieces] that are very stout, a simple 
design and were about $75 many years ago. Check out other tools [Sears, 
Autozone, etc.] before settling on a particular tool. Keep in mind, this is one DIY 
project, during which, if your compressor[s] fails, you could be killed.
