Many people, including myself and Bill STaif of the Registry
have had verifiable good results with Valvoline MaxLife oil.
I have tried Marvel in the distant past, and other
additives, but I prefer an oil that is designed from the
start for a situation, rather than mixing a stew of
debatable products.
NO product will solve bad valve guide/seal problems, and
nothing really stops all leaks, but the MaxLife does seem to
help, and it is a pretty good oil.
I use it in my '89 that leaks less now than it did, but I
still put in Amsoil synthetic when I go racing.
