Thanks George, that was exactly my first impression -- collapsed lifters 
sound just like that.  But of course no such critter on the SHO.  Based on the 
"frequency" (of occurrence, not audio frequency or any other kind - grin) it's 
gotta be on just one jug, and my bet is on the top end too.  Busted valve 
spring?  I wouldn't run it any longer than it takes to put the steth on it and 
localize it, that's for sure.
