More than likely the only thing in new radiators is
dust, but who knows. When I replaced my radiator last
spring, I flushed the new one out with a garden hose
for 5 minutes. I didn't really see anything come out,
but it just gave me a peace of mind knowing that it
was about as clean as it was going to get.
I honestly don't know what could be causing your
overflow problems. Maybe there is still air in your
system that is trying to work it's way out. Maybe your
waterpump is going out. Maybe you got a bad
thermostat. But like I said, I'm just guessing here,
and hoping someone else will jump on this and point
you in a better direction.
