I personally think the ballsiest of drivers are WRC drivers. Their
spectators are pretty balsie as well. You figure, driving from 30-160 MPH on
all sorts of loose surfaces, around blind corners with livestock and humans
running across the 'track' in front of you. Then, they flip the car over,
put it back on its wheels and drive it out of the stage.
The drivers even have to do rudimentary repairs themselves.

James,
flying is a pretty scary thing.
So is turning left when the concrete wall is about 8 feet
high and you are approaching it at full throttle with
nothing but a little bit of car around you, also loaded with
fuel. In one situation you know what the outcome usually is
(flying is pretty safe), and in the other, as a novice
"racer" (ME) the outcome is NOT so much a known quantity.
I have done both (fly and drive an oval) and for scary the
oval has it hands down.
I am not a NASCAR junkie, I just know beyond any doubt that
what they do is real racing. I like other forms better, but
that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the occasional round race
(indy?) or respect the drivers.
