I follow F1 more closely than any other motor sport. When I read
all the posts about what makes for real racing, there were a lot of
good points made. Obviously a very subjective topic.

About the Spanish GP, I agree it was disappointing to see what
happened to Ruebens, but no matter what anyone says (remember he is
given the same equipment as MS), he will always be the Tonto in the
pair. He can drive fast and you have to respect anyone that can
handle a car like that, but MS is in a league of his own.

Even though the race itself is brief by Nascar standards, drama does
not occur during the entire race. Usually at the start and then
with pitstop strategy. Most people would say that passing on the
track is better than passing because pit stops. One quick fix in F1
is to limit the number of stops so that cars have to stay out on the
track longer, deal with traffic and have to attempt to pass someone
to get ahead.

I have also come to appreciate the talents of Takuma Sato, Jensen
Button and Jarno Trulli. Speaking of Jarno, that was one fine start
and no matter what MS says, he got his a$$ handed to him. But the
rest is history. Too bad MS couldn't get close enough to attempt a
real pass.

Lastly, you only have to watch the behavior of types like Jeff
Gordon to see how much he drools at the prospect of driving a
competitive F1 car. Too bad he won't get the chance because of all
the american drivers since Mario, I thought he had the best chance
to make a lasting impression.
