Finally got my Sr 72 at the track today(Sebring International Speedway). WOW ... what a blast , It was as good no .. better than Mid Ohio!
Track was great but more important the car was incredible. I was able to get up to speeds of 130 mph in the straights ... and in one of the long straights was running behind a new vet .. and kept up with him.
Best part was I passed both the vet and a guy who was driving a viper.
He couldnt drive real well .... maybe my ugly paint on the taurus scared him ! ha
But the car drove incredible. I had three different instructors that drove with me, and all three said they were very surprised how well the car stuck to the road. Even some of the spotters and tech guys working for event said how surprised they were in how fast the car ran.
Also, had a few old timers come up to me and said it was nice to see a "SHO" back at sebring.
All in all the car ran incredibly strong and handled like it was on a rail. This was first time I had a chance to run the car .. especially at high speed and the car just pulls and pulls.
I was surprised myself too in the straights how i was able to keep up with the what i thought were the "faster cars".
Great day ... lots of fun ... and no mishaps ..... cant wait to go back and do it again.
