[Shotimes] uneven tire wear

I notice that my tires are wearing unevenly- more on the inside edges than
the outside.  I've mostly ignored discussions here on alignment issues since
I mostly believe that cars with struts are predisposed to wear the inside
edges of the tires under hard driving.  I've been behind cars with mushy
suspensions while cornering, and noticed that the inside tires lean over
quite a bit as the car rolls.  I think under hard cornering this is why the
inside edges of the tires wear more.

Anybody want to tell me where my reasoning is wrong?

Can this be overcome somewhat by changing alignment?
