[Shotimes] Removing baked plugged wires

Any suggestions on removing spark plug wires that have vulcanized and
are stuck to the plugs?  Cylinder one's wire came apart at the boot from
pulling on it, and the part that runs down to and connects with the plug
is brittle.

The least destructive the method the better, as if I can get the old wires
out in decent shape I stand a chance to have them replaced for free under
warranty.

Stupid stuck thermostat overheating my engine...
