My wife used to manage a motel in Texas.  She said it was a 
lot of fun (and a bit scary) to watch the wrecks at that 
intersection when snow or ice hit (Rare, but bound to happen 
every year).  People in the far North US seem to look 
forward to snow, people in the central parts of the northern 
states just put up with it.  the farther south, the worse 
the cold weather drivers are, it is just a fact of what you 
are used to.
