Carl

You're a better man than I. I bothered the hell out of George, and even he
could not steer me through the process. I swear my problem must have been
getting the steering knuckle bolt loose enough, so that thde strut could slide
off???

Congrats
Bob

No real questions to ask. George Fourchy did a great remote control job
from crosscountry to get me through the uninstall aspect of the job. I
also plan to post a revised procedure from George to my personal web site
  for future reference.

Some interesting pics to see how shitty the parts can be in a 12 year old
car, keeping in mind that the strut hardware itself is about 7 years old.
The strut insert is moveable by hand. Completely shot. I have no idea if
7 years is good or not for longevity.

Just need to buy a new channel lock wrench to get the retaining nut off
the strut and then put it all together again.

In case you're wondering the following parts are planned for replacement.
  o Strut insert
  o bumpers and bellows
  o strut mount
  o strut bearing

Basically everything is changed except for the strut housing.
