True. My dad's '69 Mach 1 with stud tires on all 4
corners holds the roads much better then my SHO
anyday. But with the all seasons he has on it right
now, I'd really like to see him keep up with me. I
highly doubt he will, but maybe I'm wrong.

Like you said, a RWD properly set up will drive better
in the snow, but, how many "clueless" people out there
will spend time/money (which, I admit, isn't all that
much) to equip their RWD cars with the proper "stuff"?
Not too many. Even in a place like MT, most people
here don't even bother, they just drive/slide to their
destinations. So, for where I'm from and what I grew
up dealing with, FWD is better.
