Jason:
First reseat the LPM. I have to do this every so often. It seems to give my
car a uneven idle and some hunting too if I don't. If it does the same thing
at idle with the EATC off you might have a tranny problem. The TQ can be
trying to lock up at idle like you said. This will pull the idle down and if
real bad can kill the engine at a stop. This sounds awfully close to what
you are describing? The lock up is done electrically and is controlled by
the PCM. So what I would do is remove the LPM completely to see if it still
does it at idle.
The TQ is unlocked most of the time. It only will lock up if you are in
cruise mode on a pretty flat road and the tranny oil is above 150 F. So the
instant you step on the gas the tranny is suppose to unlock the TQ. How much
longer is your tranny warrantee good for? I am thinking you have a failing
TQ and it probably will get worse. It also sounds like it was bad from the
time it was installed. Actually the clutch inside the TQ is most likely the
problem. Make them give you a new TQ if possible. I don't think the clutch
is serviceable by itself anyway?
