[Shotimes] (OT) Safety group seeks tire expiration date

That does make sense.  And yet even tires that aren't that "old" exhibit
serious issues.  Had a set of BF Goodrich tires were chunks of rubber
would fall off due to dry rot.  This was on the family minivan.  Not a
good situation.

The replacement tires weren't much better.  The right front disintegrated
at speed on the Florida turnpike and my 20 year old was driving it and
fortunately kept his cool and brought the van under control.  The tread
from the tire whipped up and busted the side view mirror.
