OK, firstly, I did NOT upgrade my bulbs. I'm still running the 55W bulbs.
Secondly, wrt the resistor, this will only affect the LAMP OUT functionality of the headlights. It won't affect the LAMP OUT functionality of other lamps.
Each set of lamps are powered separately, and each have their own "sense" inline resistor.
