[Shotimes] The best shim size

If you were going to do a 60K and you were hoping that
all of your valves were going to need one single size
shim, what shim would that be? How hard or how easy
would it be to find?

I'm still thinking about having the valve stems
machined. Supposedly it should be done since I am
installing new valve guides anyway. I was thinking of
getting 24 of the most optimal shim and giving it to
the shop along with the cams, lash caps and whatever
else they need so they can get the clearances pretty
close to perfect by machining the stems.

I'm using rebuilt 3.0 heads with bronze valve guides,
stock valves, re-machined seats, +20 cams with lash
caps...

I've gotten responses saying that this was a good idea
and some saying that it's not. Any reasons why I
should or shouldn't do this?

Thanks
Ian
