Barry, Your best bet is to post the codes you got. Or better still, pull
them again yourself. You can optionally clear the codes first so you are
staring with a clean slate. Drive the car. As soon as the CEL comes on,
pull the codes again. Hopefully you will only get one. If you still get
multiple codes, fix the first one and then move on.
Part of the engine diagnostic capability is a cylinder balance test. This
test should turn up something if there was a problem with one of the
injectors.
I've had a bad cam sensor that caused a CEL to come on after driving the
car for a while. However, the light was also accompanied by a stumble.
After about 20 seconds, the stumble would disappear and the light would go
out. The stored code clearly pointed out the sensor, so it was reasonably
simple to diagnose.
Replacing an O2 sensor is simple. Unplug the wire from the harness, and a
box wrench will do the rest.
BTW, I am in the "donate to the O2 sensor fund". Twice. I am much more
skeptical about the wearout on these parts now.
