[Shotimes] Spedometer problems...

My 95 exhibited the same behavior when it got cold out. With my car, the
speedo cable was shot. Basically, the inside of the cable was grooved
and gummed up. When it would get cold, the cable would bind up (winding
up like a spring) and then release, sending the speedo to insane speeds!

Subject: [Shotimes] Spedometer problems...
Ok here goes, about a week ago while driving on the freeway, I noticed a
high pitch noise coming from the instrument cluster area of the dash and
took note that the speedometer was reading an insane speed well over
what I thought it should, as I was only going slightly over the speed
limit of 70 the last time I glanced at the speedometer.
I believe it somewhat due to the colder weather we are having in
Michigan, as it didn't do this when it was warmer.
Things I noticed,
1) High pitch buzzing/grinding
2) Speedometer needle RAISES speed around 10-15MPH
3) Thunking the dash temporarily remedies #1 and #2
4) The speedometer needle bobs drastically at any speed
5) Problem does not effect the Trip or Odometer
Anyone had this problem? Or know of a fix?
Desperately seeking help!
