Yup. I've had a couple of SHOs that have done this, although they didn't
make more noise than usual, just read high.  Probably need new cables.

Ok here goes, about a week ago while driving on the freeway, I noticed a
high pitch noise coming from the instrument cluster area of the dash and
took note that the speedometer was reading an insane speed well over
what I thought it should, as I was only going slightly over the speed
limit of 70 the last time I glanced at the speedometer.

 

I believe it somewhat due to the colder weather we are having in
Michigan, as it didn't do this when it was warmer.
