[Shotimes] ECC Codes...

I got my car back from the mechanic on Friday, after the valve lash adjustment
was completed and a new woodruff key and timing sprocket were installed.
(Thanks to everyone for your help on that!) Anyway, it drove fine Friday
afternoon and then started missing while driving, and it doesn't like to idle
either. I was going down the road at about 50mph, and all of a sudden the
RPMs dropped to around 1200 and then picked up, dropped again, and then the
car died. Threw it in neutral and she started right back up. Ran fine until I
got to a light and it started to idle oddly. Again the rpms would drop, pick
up, and drop. It idled like that until I hit the gas to go, and then died
completely. Refused to start again unless I pushed the go-pedal to the floor,
and then she started right back up. Stalled on me again as I turned to go
down a side street, I was going maybe 10 or 15mph. Car would start and idle a
few seconds and then die again. Finally did get to nurse it back home.

I checked the codes on it this morning, and did not get a thing. Not even a
542!! I'm thinking the mechanic screwed something up, like the crank position
sensor. Or maybe there is a vacuum leak somewhere? Perhaps the intake isn't
properly torqued?

Any ideas? The car is back at the shop right now, grr, and right now I'd much
rather have it here doing the work on it myself if only I knew what was
wrong!
