Hopefully George or somebody more experienced with this will pipe up but
here goes. The easiest way is with the engine off, take the top timing cover
off and rock the engine back and forth while watching the timing belt. You
should have NO slack. If the belt does not move immediately when the crank
bolt is turned you have a problem.
