Had posted a few other posts elsewhere, but thought I'd drop a line here
(heading out of town for a bit). Did a zillion miles at Road Atlanta this
past weekend with Josh's new +40 cams in the 89. Straight drop in "test", no
tuning, still stock intake (EH/BBB not on yet) cams runs straight up. The
difference was dramatic. Lots more torque from 5k on, coming off the corners.
Down the backstraight 130 indicated is as quick as I could pull with the
stockers. This past weekend with no passenger and same set-up as stock, I was
seeing indicated 136-137 (speedo may be off with the 50 series, speedo lag,
but the delta should be the accurate). 6-7 mph is a pretty good improvement
for a straight drop in. Put in the quickest laps I've put there yet.

Low end is decent, better than I expected. Drove to the track and home with
spare tires, tools, jack, spare parts, etc...probably full weight or more than
a stock SHO. Driving around town wasn't bad. From 3k on it doesn't feel too
much different from stock. At 5k the torque stays much much flatter to
redline. I think with a 3.2L anyway, you could run these in a street car.

Only downside is much lower hot oil pressure, only thing I can come up with is
the extra clearance on the cam bores to cam journals since the reginds are
polished down. It's a lot lower than it was, and lower than I'd like it for a
track motor.

Lots of fast cars! My group looked more like a Z06 national convention than
anything. Caught a ride in one on the new Khumo V710 rubber. Great ride.
Think when the C6 Z06 comes out and the 02/03's go down a few more
bucks....hmmm.....
