[Shotimes] Exhaust manifold leak...clanking noise

Heat Shields
I think there are four, one top and one bottom on each cat.
The ones on the wife's '93 made a real ricey buzzing sound at high RPMs and
gave a tinny rattle down low.

It could be, repeat, COULD BE (so don't crucify me ;-)
) that the rock guards (or whatever they are) on the
cats are broke. The cat on the rear coming from the
right side of the engine...or back of the engine if
your looking down on it from the front of the
car...was broke in a couple of places, and it would
rattle (guess you could call it a clanking noise).
Very annoying...and disheartening... If nothing else
it's VERY quick, easy, and cheap to look and rule that
out. FWIW....
