I don't think the oversize are really any more than std are they?

I think a well done thermal coating can change the thermal expansion
properties and get rid of piston slap and such for cold starts.  You might
could check with Wiseco about this, and what they recommend for wall
clearance, etc

that must have been a pretty beat block, usually the cylinder bores hold up
amazingly well

You need to hold a set of them in your hand before you decide you don't want
them :)  I fondled a set of 93mm 10.5:1 units at the convention (josh
brought for me) then like a dummy forgot to grab them before we hit the
road.
