[Shotimes] Electrified Rearview Mirrors - What For?

Hey all,

I was looking for a replacement interior rearview mirror in the j/y today
and was amused to find that some of the more luxurious cars (like the
Caddy's) have electric switches on the rearview mirrors. Some mirrors appear
to just have an on/off function, but one car had off, low and high settings.
What am I missing out on here? I feel like such a rube!  :-)

Also saw some cool seats in a Park Avenue. OK, not for a SHO, but if I was
building a custom or doing a truck in tan leather I think they would be
pretty sweet as they had a "pillow top" and 1" or so wide vertical ribs.
