If you recall a few months back, Steve blended a Triumph T-10 with a Suzuki
Samauri.  It came out fabulous.  He is now terminal with Cancer.  Everyone
on the Hillman list is very upset that this hit so suddenly and is giving
best wishes for the family.  It's hard when someone who writes so well and
entertainingly and is such a craftsman to boot is lost.  We all hope he
beats it, but from this message, it doesn't appear to be so.

Spoke to Sue just now. Steve's too weak to get out of bed, and is most
alert/awake in the am, between 8-10am. I couldn't talk to him, as he was
asleep. His pain is controlled and he's under Hospice care (a USA outfit
that aids in patient care when death's near) I asked Sue if I coild pass on
his condition to our list, and she agreed.

I'm thinking 2 things- that Steve's going to die soon, and would love to
have some of you listers ring him. When death's near, those who are alert
love simple, honest, communication.

Sue's son, Jessie, has been working @ Steve's shop for 18 mos now. Sue's to
quit her job, and run the shop, with the help of a manager. She sounded VERY
strong, as she must, to help Steve the most.

Steve had written that Sue's previous marriage was miserable, and that
Jessie had finally found the dad he'd always wanted. The 3 of them were so
happy...

A special thanks to Ron Beckett, who allowed all of us to see Steve's
creation. I'll always remember Toni, the TriSuzuki, and be inspired by it.
