  With the Gen 3 brakes (as well as about any other car on the planet), the
only way to shorten stopping distances are better tires.

  Bigger brakes, better pads, etc will help the car maintain the stopping
distance after repeated hard stops (better fade resistance).

  Better brakes/pads/fluid, etc can give a better pedal "feel" at less than
100% usage, and for most people, this is the benefit of brake upgrades, but it
doesn't necessarily help ultimate braking performance. Kinda like opening the
intake & changing mufflers......gives you a nice sound, but doesn't usually
add any power.

    So explain to me how much better the brakes are.  Do you mean you could
not get the ABS to function on all for wheels before your brake upgrades?????

      That's the way a SHO should stop, eh? I guess I got kind of spoiled
hauling a Porsche down from speed, the standard SHO brakes just weren't going
to cut it. Like I said, who needs to upgrade the rears? They really don't
touch the ground when the fronts work that good!
