If you look at the sticker, destination fee is the same in the continental
US, no matter how far the dealer is from the factory. From what I
understand, they charge the average cost of delivery. I have no clue on the
whole Teamster thing.

I have had friends that were transport drivers, and the
Teamsters are VERY interested in anything that cuts down on
the need for their drivers. Thus, even if you pay the
delivery fee to have a car delivered to say, my home town in
IL, and I want pick up the car at the factory, then I can't
do it, because the driver wasn't involved. No need for the
driver, they eventually drop them.
At least that is what I was told. Makes sense from a union
standpoint, not that I agree 100% with it.
I think American manufacturers should allow factory delivery
with buyers treated like gold. But I don't think it will
happen.
