I agree, I tend to use USPS for more shipping than UPS.

And, although I haven't done it, I heard the other day that USPS will take
bare sway bars with a shipping label on them, whereas UPS now requires them
to be packaged.

Since I started shipping lots of stuff I've discovered that you can't beat
the USPS or DHL, and outside of them you shouldn't even THINK about using
UPS or FedEx.  Trust me, go do a shipping charge comparison.  Their ground
is WAY cheaper than UPS or FedEx, and their standard 2nd day air is about
the same price as UPS ground.

I've found there is a big difference btwn what UPS charges and Fed-Ex
charges for ground shipping - with Fed-Ex being consistently cheaper. A rod
shifter shouldn't cost all that much via Fed-Ex ground.
