The 5-speed Legacy GT is noticeably quicker.

Had a coupon where Subaru would give me $25 to test drive the Legacy. It
expires Thursday so I went to my local dealer and checked one out. I love
this dealer. They take a copy of your license and hand you the keys and tell
you to come back before closing.
They didn't have a GT with a 5 speed so I took the automatic. They had
non-GT manuals but no turbo.
Anyhow, accidentally put it in manual mode and then wondered what was
happening as I was pulling out of the parking lot and it was banging off the
rev limiter! Anyhow, once I figured that out, I went on my normal test drive
course. Overall, not as fast or at least not as raw aw the WRX 5 speed I had
tested earlier. Got it up to 100 or so on route 12, did some on and off ramp
romping, stomped on the brakes.
Overall, a good little wagon! Bigger than the WRX wagon. If I had the money
though, I would buy the WRX STi instead of the Legacy. Size doesn't matter
to me as much as performance.
