IMHO, I would go no wider than 225. 225 is marginal on a 6" rim, and really
works best with an 8" rim.

Wide isn't always better. Obviously a good tire helps, bun running it on
it's design rim width will perform better than getting a wide tire on a rim
that is on the narrow side (BTDT).

OH NO - not ANOTHER tire thread?!?

I'm getting a set of GEN III (96-98) alloy wheels to use 
on my 95.  Should I go with the 225-55 sized tires, or is 
there a better size to use?  Does anyone run 235-50s on a 
6.5" wide rim and are the sidewalls too mushy?  I'd like 
to keep the speedo as correct as possible.

I will most likely go with Kuhmo 712s.
