[Shotimes] 16x6.5 Tire Recommendations

Well, the stock 215 size wasn't too bad on a 6" rim, and the 225 on the 6.5"
Gen 3 is "OK".

Wide rims cost more, and also give a stiffer ride....which is good or bad,
depending on how you look at it.

Modern cars (well, newer than an '80s-design SHO) like my new ride have
215/45/17 on a 7" wide rim, for example.

Long story, but my 911 has 16x8" rear rims. The car came with 245/45/16s,
then I went back to the stock 225/50/16s. The handling and ride improved
noticeably, and the replacement 225s were not a good of a tire as the ones
that I got with the car. 245s and the sidewall angle were not optimum for an
8" rim. 

Same with my SHO. I like the ES100s on it, but the 225 width is really too
much for the 6" slicer. I bet that they would work much better with a 7.5"
or 8" rim.

Wow - an 8" rim!  I guess that makes sense, 225 mm = 8.8 
inches.  In that case, we all should be running 185 width 
tires!  I guess the car makers in general skimp in 
tire/wheel combo on most performance cars, or is it just 
the SHO?
