Hey!! ;-)
Thanks for asking...we're fine, and I suspect most others are, too. We were on the
road all day today (my Sunday), shopping for various things, and we heard about it
on the local news radio station. During the day we'd check back to see about
damage, and the only thing we heard was that a 2 lane highway bridge in the
immediate vicinity had some cracks, and so only cars could cross it.
Other than that, everything is fine. We never felt it.....Lowrider makes its own
earthquakes!!
Parkfield is right ON the San Andreas Fault, which doomsayers predict will provide
those on the east side of it a brand new seashore sometime within the next 25 years.
(If you remember the movie Superman I, that's the one that Lois Lane's car fell
into as the quake was happening) I don't deny that occurance is possible....that's
why we have earthquake coverage on our house with a $2500 deductable. (I also have
to say that right in that same area a year or so ago, there was a serious quake,
which did a LOT of damage to the city of Paso Robles, and killed a few folks in a
store when it totally collapsed.)
This time though, you see...we've had our specific California scary event for the
year, and right now the sun is still shining, the sky is blue, the wind is blowing
gently, and we are cooling off like we do every September. Kallyfornia isn't such a
bad place to be!! (....he said, planning to move to Puget Sound shortly after
retirement, in 2006!)
