That's probably not the cable you're feeling, rather the throttle body
return spring.  Some throttle body's have one spring, other's have two
(or one is a light spring, the other heavy, I forget exactly which it
is).

Speaking of which, anyone have a throttle cable for a 89?
Mine is a little sluggish....and i just finished driving my friends and
it 
is the softest peddle feel i have ever felt on an SHO.....
