Chances are the battery is gone.  Three years is a long time, and 
leaving it in storage with inconsistent charging is harder on a battery 
than using it every day.  If you have a bigger charger, try charging it 
at a higher rate for a few hours, but if it won't hold a charge for more 
than a day, then it is shot.  Might be time and effort saved to just get 
a new battery.
