Yes, I've seen that.
I suppose one caveat to this whole deal is where you live and what kind
of gas you have. In some parts of the country I wonder if the 87 is
less "pingy" than where I live (Chicago-land).

Several years ago (maybe 1990?) Car & Driver published an article where
someone compared the performance of the SHO on regular and premium. I
don't exactly remember the results but as I recall there was only a 3%
difference in HP below 3K RPMs and absolutely no difference above 3K
RPMs. In other words, no real difference.
They attributed this to how well the engine was designed.
I think I still have the article somewhere...
