Classic case of the wrong valve. I did this on my '94. The valve you're
trying to use is the high-pressure side (don't puncture it!). The valve you
want is like on the firewall.. you need to take that plastic cover off
that's behind the self-test port and it's on the passenger side up against
the firewall.

I bought one of those all-in-one AC stop leak / oil / refrigerant kits, and
I can't for the life of me figure out how to use it. The valve I thought I
was refilling from is on the far right front under the hood, right in front
of the wiper fluid reservoir, but it doesn't seem to fit there! What am I
doing wrong?
