in the final (I hope) chapter of my clutch saga, my car is back on the
road. Not, however, without aggravation. The sub frame bolts broke and
had to be replaced, and the trans mount was broken so that too needed
replacement. All from Ford, all at high prices. $150 just for the mount,
plus four extra days waiting for the parts to come in. The biggest
aggravation though was the TOB. I had gotten the clutch kit from Advance
and in it was the wrong TOB. The shop tried to get one from NAPPA but
kept getting incomplete units so they finally located one elsewhere for
$50.00. I went back to Advance as a very unhappy camper but I must say
they took care of it without any argument. They refunded me the price
for the replacement and even covered the sales tax on it. I'm certainly
not happy about having the problem in the first place, but I am
satisfied with how they handled it. It is nice to get decent customer
service for a change. This Advance store is in Manchester NH. I hope all
their stores have similar policies & attitudes.
