Nah, just going with lowering springs.  ;)  Yes my Optima does have side post capabilites, though I am not running them.  You can do as you propose though, my friend Jon has his optima set up like that in his Camaro.

You are lowering your ears? Are you installing
coilovers on them or something? :)

To keep this SHO specific, is your Optima top and side
mount? Do you think there is room to stick it in a
summit battery box and use both the top and side
mounts? I'm thinking ahead to hooking up my amps. (I
run a 4 gauge to a distribution block as you probably
know). I was considering using a side post for the
amps and the cap.

I think the Odyssey's are only top mount which is not
a drawback. I can always rig something up.
