Or, we could all use GMT, which is what the military and aviation uses.  That time
is the same, anywhere in the world (and on the moon, too!).  At this time ( 1 PM )
in CA, it is 2000, or 8 pm GMT.  It is 4 am (tomorrow) in the morning in
Taiwan/HongKong/Manila, and it is 11 AM in Hawaii.  It is a snap to figure these
times...all one needs to know is the hours plus or minus GMT for a particular area.

PST is -8, EST is -5, and Hawaii time is -10.  Hong Kong is +8, Tokyo is +9, and
most of Europe is +1 or +2.
