Yes, Alaska is really far out!
Was visiting my daughters in Fairbanks last July. Almost never got dark.
Everybody was up and about at midnight in full daylight.
Was there for the Christmas Holidays and the sun was up at about 11 AM and
set again about 2:30 PM. Temps hovered around zero, but with no wind and no
humidity, it didn't fell all that cold. That was until it hit 38 below on
Christmas Eve. If you can't plug your multiple car heaters in to 120v, you
just leave them run.
My daughter likes her Exploder only for the reason that you can unlock the
door with the key pad when the thing is running, but locked.
