Z: "Come on really, think about it, what is the advantage to DST? I think
it's ridiculous. Don't tell me "the farmers want it" I live in the middle
of farm country, we don't want it. It's stupid, plain stupid. Make it go
ther other way, that makes sense. Make it so I have an
extra hour of daylight in the afternoon."
Hooray, another voice crying in the wilderness. I spent a lot of time on a
dairy farm when I was growing up and you're pretty much out of bed when it's
still dark no matter what season it is. (OK, on a crop farm you don't have
to get up early to milk the corn.) I druther have the daylight at the end of
the day all year round.
Now for normal workadaddies like most of us, it's just a pisser to have it
get dark so quick when they change the clock for winter. Can't get a damn
thing done outside after work. Whereas, I only have to flick the light switch
in my office so why would I care if it's still dark outside when I start work!
No, if they're gonna change it in winter, they should change it in the
OTHER direction so we have MORE daylight after work.
If there are any contractors or similar kinds of outdoor workers on this
list it'd be interesting to hear their opinions which might or might not be
different from farmers.
