The extra hour of light in the morning means you don't need to run the
lights in the AM. At night, most people would get home after dark anyway,
so that doesn't really matter. But you save an hour of electricity in the
AM.

The latter I have heard, and perhaps if I had kids it would be more of a
concern.

The first one though really doesn't matter if you think about it.
Either it's dark in the morning and you switch on the lights, or it's dark
at night and you switch on the lights. Actually it may make for more use of
electricity as if you get up turn on the lights to get ready, switch them
off and go into work.... it's the same either way (at least for me becasue
in the winter I am always awake before the sun rises, even with DST i would
be). With DST you would come home and have one _less_ hour of daylight
then. in other words: more light usage in the evening with DST. am I
confused? how is this an energy savings?
