Which is why there is a money savings. If less people were awake, it
wouldn't matter. :)
More daylight when people are awake means less people have to turn on their
lights. That's the idea anyway. As you can all see, it's nonsensical and
crazy and not of the 21st Century. But that's just my opinion, and as A.J.
said, it's probably gonna be impossible to make anyone agree to one side of
it.

Saying we have more daylight is a little misleading. We have more daylight
when the majority of the people are awake.

Here's a article:
http://www.energy.ca.gov/daylightsaving.html
We move forward to save energy because there is more light in the summer
months. So by moving forward, we have more daylight. During winter, when
there is a shorter day, we fall back because that gives us more daylight in
the evening. If we didn't fall back, it would get dark at 3 in the
afternoon instead of 5. During the summer, if we didn't spring forward, it
would get dark at 7 or 8 instead of 9. We save energy and have more
daylight. I base this on where I live in Florida, but that's the logic.
I read an article that America saves 250 billion dollars a year in energy
costs because of this, that figure could be wrong, but I know it's a ton o'
money.
We don't lose daylight either way, we gain.
