You got that right about Subarus!  Seems that every other car in Alaska is a Subaru.  They need 'em--They don't salt the roads up there, and spring breakup is pretty messy.

You'd think that big, beefy ATVs would be the  natural wheels of choice in 
the Nome Zone.  Actually the preferred ride  seems to be Subaru.  AWD, reliable, 
and they are everywhere.  I guess  it sort of reaches a critical mass where 
you figure, you might as well get one  too because at least you won't have any 
problem ever getting parts or  service.  Not a trivial issue ;-)
