[Shotimes] OT help with HP printer

When I went to a new computer recently (windows XP software) all of a
sudden printing on my HP Deskjet 722C became super slow. The print head
moves as fast as before, the document starts right away, but the print
head seems to print 1/16" or less per pass, and doesn't appear to be
printing bi-directional.

A simple black/white typed page without pictures or color takes about
30-40 seconds to print where with the old computer it took maybe 10-15
seconds. You could see the paper advance about 3/8" or more for each
pass of the print head, and now I swear it advances less than 1/16" per
pass of the print head.

As an example, ONE LINE in 10 point type, too THREE passes of the print
head just now on a form that has a single line at the bottom of the form
with a big gap above it.

I have checked all the HP help files and everything seems to be working,
I have the most up to date version of the software.

Any ideas among the computer guru's out there?

Your help is appreciated.
