Like I keep saying, I'm a Gen 1 kinda guy, but on the Gen 1 mirrors, you can remove
the plastic cover that is body colored, and swap it with any other cover.  I don't
know if Gen 2 mirrors are different.

To remove the covers, you have to remove the mirror from the door.  Slide the wire
and connector back inside the housing, so that you have room to stick your finger
inside that hole where it comes out.  Towards the front of the mirror is a clip,
that you can reach with your finger.  There are two connectors there, back to back. 
Take a look at one that is opened...you have to destroy the cover in most cases to
get a look at it, but you can unsnap the cover and slide it off.  That's how they
are made at the factory, so that generic mirrors can go on each car, with the color
matched covers sliding on them, to make manufacture simpler.
